Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
1. Scope & Definitions
This Privacy Policy describes how Confidel ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, or use any of our cleaning, house sitting, or mobile detailing services. By using our site or services, you agree to this policy.
"Personal information" means any information that identifies you as an individual or could reasonably be linked to you — for example your name, email address, phone number, service address, and the details you provide in a quote request.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 What you provide directly
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number.
- Service details: service address, preferred date/time, vehicle make/model/year (for detailing), property type and condition (for cleaning/sitting), pet and special-instruction details, and any free-text notes you include.
- Marketing-source: how you heard about us (referral, Google, Instagram, etc.).
- Communications: emails, texts, or messages you send us in response to a booking.
2.2 What's collected automatically
- Language preference: stored locally in your browser (see Section 7).
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP address, browser user-agent, timestamp, URL requested) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We don't use this for advertising or profiling.
2.3 What we do NOT collect
- Government identification numbers (SSN, driver's license).
- Payment card information through the website. Payment is collected directly at the time of service via the method you authorize.
- Biometric data, location tracking, browsing history outside our site, or any other data category not listed in 2.1 and 2.2.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us only to:
- Respond to your quote request and prepare a personalized estimate.
- Schedule, perform, and follow up on the service you've booked.
- Send you the confirmation email after submitting a quote.
- Communicate about your appointment, including reminders, changes, and post-service follow-up.
- Resolve disputes, investigate damage or theft claims, and comply with applicable laws.
- Improve our services through aggregated, non-identifying analysis.
We do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, do not sell it to third parties, and do not share it for the third-party purposes covered under California's CCPA Section 1798.140(t)(2).
4. Who We Share It With
We share your information only with the small number of service providers we need to actually run the business:
- Vercel — hosts our website and runs the server functions that process your quote request. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Telegram — receives an instant notification to our internal Telegram channel when you submit a quote, so we see your request as soon as you send it. Subject to Telegram's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — sends the confirmation email to your address. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Insurance / bond providers — only in the rare case of a claim under our liability policy or bond.
- Law enforcement — only when legally required (subpoena, court order, or imminent safety concern).
5. Where It's Stored
Our hosting infrastructure is operated by Vercel and is primarily located in data centers in the United States. The third-party processors above operate globally; your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We do not transfer data outside our processors' standard architecture.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep your quote request and service records for as long as we need them to provide the service, handle any follow-up issues, and comply with our tax and recordkeeping obligations (typically 7 years for financial records under federal and NJ law). After that, we delete or anonymize the records. You can request earlier deletion under Section 8.
7. Cookies & Local Storage
Our site does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We use a single piece of browser local storage to remember your language preference (so the site loads in the same language next time you visit). This is stored only in your browser, never sent to us, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.
Standard session cookies from our hosting provider may be set for security purposes (e.g. distinguishing legitimate visits from automated abuse).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the GDPR (if you're in the EU/UK), or NJ's data protection statutes. We honor the following for everyone:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from any marketing email (a link is in every email) or email us directly to opt out of all marketing communications.
- Do Not Sell or Share: We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there's no need for a separate opt-out — this applies universally.
- Non-discrimination: Exercising any of these rights will never affect the price or quality of service we provide you.
To exercise any right, email us at the address in Section 12. We'll respond within 30 days, or sooner where required by law.
9. Children
Our site and services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption on all pages, secure server-to-server connections to our processors, and access controls on internal systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect the data you share with us. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you in accordance with NJ's Identity Theft Prevention Act and any other applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL with the "Last updated" date noted above. Material changes will be communicated by email or at the time of your next booking. The version in effect on the date of your interaction with us applies to that interaction.
